Q. What is Mobile Number Portability (MNP)?

A. Mobile Number Portability (MNP) is that mobile user can retain their mobile phone numbers when switching from current mobile network carrier to another carrier. 


For our services, you can continue to use your U.S. mobile phone number (MNP is possible). We will process to transfer your phone number based on the information provided by you. 


Before requesting UNIVERSAL Mobile SIM activation, please have the following information required for procedure of the phone number transfer.


・Mobile carrier name under the current contract

・Account number

・Password or PIN number


*Please note that if the telephone line is invalid or if the telephone number is outside the United States, we cannot process transferring.

① Apply for a SIM rate plan.

↓ 

② Request for SIM activation. *You will need to enter the account number and PIN number when making a request.

③ Process transferring the phone number according to the desired usage start date. *We will inform you by email, "Notice of SIM activation completion" once the process is completed. 

④ Replace the SIM card and restart the mobile device after the transferring is done. *Please cancel the current contract you are using when the phone number transfer is completed.



****Notes****


1) If the current contract is canceled or invalidated before the transfer is completed, or if the prepaid contract expires, the phone number cannot be transferred.


2) There are various causes, such as when the information provided by you, or the previous mobile phone company does not approve it. If you wish to transfer your phone number, please request activation with plenty of days, as it may not be possible to complete the transfer within the scheduled date.


3) Japanese phone numbers are not applicable to transfer.


4) Currently, prepaid contracts may take longer than usual to complete the transition procedure. In rare cases, the telecommunications company may determine that the transfer is not possible after applying for the transfer procedure, in which case a new phone number will be issued. Please consider applying after acknowledging the above.


5) When you continue to use a mobile phone purchased by another company, please confirm in advance that the SIM card is unlocked
